And MORE basecamps for 2010!

The list of base camps for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa is becoming longer and longer! Up until recently,only Australia, England, Serbia, Ghana, Japan, Germany, Denmark, Paraguay, Argentina, South Africa, Slovakia, the USA, Cameroon, Brazil, Italy,  The Netherlands / Holland, and South Korea had revealed their base camps. Four more teams have joined them! The remaining countries will have to be quick in deciding where their will establish their 2010 world cup base camp, as the deadline – 31 january – is very close by.

Switzerland – The Swiss Football Association confirmed in December 2009 that  the Emerald Resort and Casino in  Vanderbijparkwill be the Swiss base camp during the 2010 World Cup. The resort is situated about one hour outside OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.

France – The French team has opted for their 2010 base camp at the luxurious Pezula resort near Knysna, on South Africa famous Garden Route

Spain – The Spanish football team has chosen Potchefstroom (120 km from Johannesburg) as their base camp for the 2010 FIFA world cup.

Paraguay – This team’s 2010 base camp first opted for the Point Hotel in Mossel Bay, but moved to Pietermaritzburg in the KwaZulu-Natal Province.

Currently, it is not sure which of the 32 teams will choose cape Town as their base camp for the 2010 world cup.
