With Cape Town’s brand new 2010 world cup football stadium completed, the visitors center has reopened its doors for soccer enthusiasts who’d like to see the stadium from up close.

This means that you can book stadium tours, to see for yourself what the venue for eight FIFA world cup matches – including a semi final – is all about.

The stadium tours are scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The hour-long tours start at 10:00, 12:00 and 14:00, and admission fees are R30 for adults and R15 for pensioners and children. School tours are available at R10 per child.

What can you expect during the Cape Town Stadium tour? The tour includes the stands, players’ changing rooms, VIP/hospitality area and the prison cell. Access to the pitch is, however, not permitted. The first signed soccer and rugby ball brought in the 68.000-seater stadium  also feature.

Directions the cape Town Stadium visitors center: Drive from the new raised Green Point traffic circle and take the entrance closest to McDonald’s. Park near the site of the old Green Point Stadium. Enter via the entrance on Granger Bay Boulevard at entrance C onto the podium.

For more information on the stadium tours call 021 430 7346.
