Road closures pre World Cup fest

This coming Thursday (June 10), one day before the kick-off of the 19th edition of the FIFA Football World Cup, Cape Town will be hosting a buzzing, colourful and festive pre world cup street festival to welcome the planet to South Africa. The events will comprise a carnival parade, the switching on of special soccer-themed lights in Adderley Street and a 10-hour, star-studded concert at the Grand Parade. The Grand Parade in Cape Town’s city center will be the venue for the official FIFA Fan Fests.

The world cup welcoming festival is expected to draw over 60.000 people.

The world cup street festival will result in a couple of road closures. They are as follows:
